Winter
Winter at the Inn offers the cold weather enthusiast a host of activities.
Snow begins to fall typically in mid-November through mid-March in the Poconos.
The Inn itself is located at a 2200 ft. elevation making for spectacular winter
views outside each guest room window while you can remain warm and cozy inside
your individually thermostatic controlled room with fireplace. The Pocono
region features three down-hill ski resorts; Jack Frost,
Big Boulder and Camelback.
Please check with our staff before your stay, as we do have special discounted
package tickets from time to time.
Both Hickory Run State Park and
Lehigh Valley Gorge State Park offer endless miles of trails for
cross-country skiing and snow-shoe hiking.
Winter is also a time to enjoy snowmobiling. Many of the trails in the State
game-lands and Hickory Run State Park that surround the Inn at Hickory Run
offer snowmobiling. Please feel free to ask us about location of trails and
appropriate requirements for use. Typically, during the months of January and
February, ice skating is available on many of the ponds and lakes within the
state parks only a short drive from the Inn.
Of course we invite you to select a book from our library, or watch a DVD from
our extensive video library, or curl up in front of one of our many fireplaces
and enjoy a nice relaxing winter day. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and hot apple
cider are available throughout the day during the winter months.
Winter weekend evenings feature a reception get-together for all of our guests
which include regional delicacies.
