Spring
Spring at The Inn at Hickory Run brings streams full with snow melt. It is the
perfect time for white-water kayaking, rafting and the start of fishing season.
Golf courses begin another season of enjoyment, the bike trails are ready, and
there are endless miles of back roads to enjoy motorcycling.
Located less than four miles from the Lehigh River in White Haven,
Pennsylvania, guests of the Inn can enjoy a hearty breakfast before a half or
whole day 30 mile white water adventure to Jim Thorpe or Glen Onoko.
Fishing season begins in April with river fly-fishing, small stream bait
fishing, as well as lake fishing in state gamelands and in the park. Please let
us know if you are planning to fish while at the Inn. We can assist with
licenses and suggest the best spots known only to the locals.
The Francis E. Walter Dam releases water to the
Lehigh River on a regular basis throughout the spring and summer months
delivering water flow for Class 2 and 3 whitewater. Several outfitters are
available in White Haven for the run down to Jim Thorpe. Let us know before
your visit, and we’ll assist you with reservations.

As always, we invite you to select a book from our library, watch a DVD from
our video selection, or simply hike/bike one of the many trails in Hickory Run
State Park or the Lehigh Gorge. Refreshments are served in the afternoons
and evenings and dessert and coffee at the end the day after dining at one of
the many local Pocono restaurants.
